My bio, sort of.
Well since my publicist is non-existent at this point, I'll introduce myself. I've been djing for ten years now, and I can't think of a better professional hobby and passion than this. I initially started to dj as a result of wanting to seemlessly blend songs on cassette tapes. I used to listen to mixshows and without knowing how they did it, i thought it was simply buying a "mixer" and fading songs into one another. Yes, stupid. So with the encouragement of another friend, and from reading some dj magazines, I started to understand the art form. I then started to attend parties and club events and spent countless hours standing by dj booths just watching the various techniques of djs - in some cases, I still do this.
Since then, I haven't left my turntables alone. With hard work and tons of hustle, I've managed to enjoy a steady djing side career while having the opportunity to play with some of my heroes and dj legends. In 2001, I had the pleasure of playing alongside and meeting Jam Master Jay. Probably one of the biggest highlights of my life.
Recently, I've moved to NYC and continue to work hard to work in the most competitive dj market in the country - if not world. But the thing that keeps all of this in persepective is that I look at djing primarily as a passionate hobby. A person recently told me that if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life. I'd have to agree with that statement.
